The Naturist Society Foundation, Inc. (TNSF) is an American naturist membership organization was founded in 1980 and is currently based in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, United States. TNSF was founded by Lee Baxandall, originally as The Naturists, Inc. (organization) and The Naturist Society (TNS) (publisher of the organization's magazine). Membership includes individuals, groups and recreational businesses. Its stated mission is "promoting a culture of body acceptance through clothing-optional recreation, education, and community outreach." The TNSF vision is to "create a clothing-optional world where your body does not define who you are."
In the 1990s, TNS established two nonprofit adjunct organizations: The Naturist Action Committee (NAC) and the Naturist Education Foundation (NEF). Shortly after TNSF transitioned to the a 501(c)(3) organization, NAC and NEF dissolved their connection with TNSF. NAC advocates for the acceptance of skinny-dipping and nude sunbathing at designated clothing-optional public beaches. A 2006 Roper Poll commissioned by the NEF found that 74% of Americans accept this idea.
Following many years as a for profit company, in 2017, TNS transitioned from an LLC structure to a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. TNSF is now governed by a Board of Directors comprising seven individuals.
TNSF publishes a quarterly magazine Nude & Natural (also called N magazine) which contains articles on naturist activities and issues related to naturism. Photographs in the magazine seek to represent a full range of naturist participants. TNSF also hosts events for members around North America called gatherings and festivals.
